Course Overview:

• Overview of the presentations of ADHD, Autism and High Sensitivity in women and female identifying clients.

• The specific differences in the nervous system for neurodivergent clients and how this can impact the perinatal period.

• The specific challenges and strengths neurodivergence brings to the perinatal period and how to support clients with the challenges while identifying and affirming the strengths.

Me! Kylee Nelson. Hi There.

I’ve spent my career working with children and families starting in 2013 in community mental health (case manager through graduate school then as a therapist) and in January 2020 started this practice focusing exclusively on Perinatal Mental Health. Through my work with perinatal clients I’ve realized that many of my clients are neurodivergent and didn’t know it until motherhood.

I’m also a mama myself and was inspired to work with this population after experiencing perinatal anxiety & OCD symptoms and struggling to find specialized support from a provider who was trained and understood what I was going through. Through my perinatal journey I also learned that I am a highly sensitive ADHDer. That’s what led me to specialize in perinatal mental health, especially with neurodivergent parents.

Training : 2 hours. Certificates will be delivered via email within 7 days of completing the training.

For CO clinicians, as a LMFT in CO this training will count towards your continuing education hours.

For OK Clinicians - I am an approved provider with the OK State Board of Behavioral Health.

For other states, please check with your licensing board for requirements. My trainings have been accepting by states other than Oklahoma or Colorado, but it is your responsibility to check with your board to make sure!

For other states - Please contact your state board about requirements for receiving continuing education credit, if you need me to complete a form for your board about the training I am happy to do so! If it is more than a one page form, I reserve the right to charge a $15 admin fee to cover time completing the form.
